National facility

The facility employs the proximity ligation assays (PLA) for high-performance DNA-assisted protein analyses. DNA oligonucleotides conjugated to antibodies are used as affinity reagents, and upon pairwise or trio binding of such reagents to a target protein a reporter DNA strand is formed via ligation for detection in solution or in situ. The facility offers services where PLA is applied in cells or in tissue sections to image with enhanced specificity the presence of specific proteins, or to analyze interactions and posttranslational modifications of investigated proteins to e.g. characterize acts of protein signaling in tumor tissues, or to evaluate effects of drug treatment, etc. The facility further offers services to establish highly sensitive assays for proteins in solution phase.

  • In situ PLA. In situ PLA is applied for detecting proteins and their interactions and post-translational modifications using either client-selected antibodies or previously validated antibodies from a continuously updated list
